Welcome to the Home of the Society of Confederate Descendants!

The Society of Confederate Descendants is an organization preserving the history and legacy of Confederate Heroes, so future generations may understand the motives that galvanized the Southern Cause. Organized at Mount Pleasant, Texas, on August 21st, 2025, the SCD continues to serve as a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to ensuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved.

The Society of Confederate Descendants is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Southern heritage and the truth as it pertains to what the boys in gray fought, suffered, and died for.

Our main objective is education. We try to inform the public and especially our younger generation about the true causes of the War of Northern Aggression. We try to aid any individuals who seek their Confederate ancestors. We attempt to ensure that all Confederate Heroes’ final resting place is looked after and maintained. We work to erect new Confederate monuments and to maintain the ones which are already standing. Many more duties and public services are performed by the Society of Confederate Descendants; the list goes on and on.

"If I had foreseen the use those People designed to make of their victory, there would have been no surrender at Appomattox Courthouse. No sir, not by me. Had I foreseen these results of subjugation, I would have preferred to die at Appomattox with my brave men, my sword in this right hand."
